We will be livestreaming our spiritual sanctuary and background hymns and Armenian Church spiritual songs, with narration by Fr. Papken Anoushian, to our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/stthomasarmenianchurchnj at 10:00 am EST, on Palm Sunday.
We, at St. Thomas, have decided not to endanger the lives and families of our deacon(s), organist, and choir member(s), based upon medical data and guidance of national medical and academic experts. Thus, we are canceling the live video streaming of Palm Sunday and service for the Great Week.
St. Thomas has been working diligently to set up the livestreaming technology. Details will follow soon.
For the health and safety of our parish members, we unfortunately will not be able to have the annual Palm Sunday Banquet and will not be able to celebrate the anniversary of our Church and ACYOA Day. Please select to read Hayr Papken’s appeal to parishioners.
Today, the Holy Altar servers: Deacons Mark Bourghol, Saro Tovmassian, and David Ghazarian, and choir member Berch changed the curtain of the Holy Altar.
On Palm Sunday, March 25, at the Saint Thomas Armenian Church 53rd Anniversary Dinner, Barkev Hagopian and Krikor Hamparsumian will be honored with the St. Thomas Award for their sincere devotion and many years of service to St. Thomas Armenian Church.
St. Thomas Armenian Apostolic Church has had much reason to celebrate this past Palm Sunday weekend, on the 51st anniversary of its consecration. Taking into consideration the weekend, which began with the ordination of altar servers to acolytes, and all the events of Palm Sunday, there was so much vitality in the church on it’s 51st anniversary! In the words of his Eminence Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate, it was “an inspiring day” where the “legacy of our martyrs is being continued.”
This Palm Sunday, March 20, 2016, Mark Bourghol, Sub-Deacon of St. Thomas Armenian Church, will be ordained to the Deaconite of the Armenian Apostolic Church. The ordination will be performed by His Eminence, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America during the Divine Liturgy, and assisted by our Pastor, the Very Rev. Fr. Papken Dz. V. Anoushian.
