The youth spent a total of six hours on Saturday, November 5th collecting donations for The Center of Food Action (CFA).
The mission of the Center for Food Action is to “prevent hunger and homelessness and improve the lives of individuals and families living in poverty.” The CFA is a non-profit organization that provides emergency services to northern New Jersey’s poorest and most vulnerable residents like food, housing, utility and heating assistance.
Volunteers are integral to CFA’s mission to end hunger and homelessness in our neighborhoods. The Center for Food action relies upon the community to host food drives that will provide the needed groceries to fill our emergency food packages.
Working together, 18 dedicated St. Thomas Armenian Church ACYOA Juniors were able to collect a total of ten full carts of food and supplies for the homeless and hungry in our community!
We want to thank our members who participated, our parent chaperones, and the many supporters from St. Thomas and the Tenafly community for their generosity. We look forward to many other worthwhile service events in the future.
