St. Thomas Armenian Church ACYOA season has started with a bustling group of excited teens, advised this year by Diana Bourghol and Talar Sarafian.
Throughout the year, our young adults participate in several programs that create a greater sense of spiritual culture, tradition, and civic-mindedness. As members of the ACYOA, young adults form a bond of friendship together through all kinds of activities, including sports, community service, fund-raising, and social activities that are fun and encourage creativity and leadership.
Twice a year, ACYOA Junior members from across the eastern half of the U.S. come together for sports, socializing and Armenian spirit. This event, called Sports Weekend took place on October 7-10, hosted by St. Sahag and St. Mesrop Church in Wynnewood, PA. St. Thomas had eleven members participating and representing our chapter. A huge thanks to chaperones Vicken and Rosette Arslanian who accompanied the kids to ensure their safety and well being. They also coached our volleyball team to two exciting wins, which was wonderful for their first time playing together. Great job St. Thomas Titans! St. Thomas did being home a trophy for Advanced Chess won by Matthew Bourghol. Congrats Matthew!
