The Kirikian Armenian School and St. Thomas Armenian Church extend their sincerest appreciation to all who have supported the 7th Annual Earth Day Project to help the victims of the Nagorno-Karabagh Conflict. The grand total of donations being sent to COAF (Children of Armenia Fund) is $1,580!
This is the largest donation collected yet in the seven year history of the Kirikian Armenian School’s “Earth Day Every Day” project!
We must recognize teacher, and new Committee member, Jacklyn Baltaian for her tireless efforts in not only collecting the donations, but more importantly in highlighting the current situation among our Armenian brothers and sisters in Nagorno-Karabagh. It is clear that her heart lies not only with the children of Kirikian Armenian School but with all children. Known and loved for being the “creative teacher,” Jacklyn has been an integral part of this and many past projects, large and small. She is a great support to the St. Thomas Armenian Church, and certainly is one of the many mentors of children at Kirikian School and beyond.
To quote Jacklyn, “WE are able to make a difference in someone else’s life or in a very critical event. WE have a chance to teach our children to think about our national issues and how to care and give a helping hand.” This $1,580 donation will help the Children of Armenia Fund provide safe rooms that will offer psychological counseling and crisis management for affected children, parents, pregnant women, soldiers, families of missing soldiers, and other community members in the Nagorno-Karabagh region.
