The February 6, 2016 Poon Paregentan Masquerade Party, hosted and meticulously prepared by the ladies of the St. Thomas Church Cultural Committee, was a resounding success!  It would not have been such a hit without the efforts of:  Jacklyn Baltaian, Diana Bourghol, Jane Torigian, Talar Sarafian, Maral Kalishian, Tanya Vartanyan, and Nadine Mekjian!29

The Atrium was full of beautifully decorated tables with handmade centerpieces, beads and masks.  There were almost 200 guests, each greeted personally in the lobby by our very chic and masked members of the St. Thomas Cultural Committee.  Everyone received their own complimentary masks for the ladies and crowns for the gentlemen.  It certainly set the tone for the fabulously fun night ahead! 6

A grand variety of delicious homemade appetizers/mezzes, also freshly prepared by the committee, were enjoyed throughout the evening. Paul Bourghol and John Torigian, heading the refreshments area, prepared drinks for the guests. When the children weren’t also dancing, they were entertained at a long crafts table just for them, where they had all the tools for making their own masks and more!

17Spirits were high on the dance floor as everyone heard just the right the songs to get them out of their seats!  The creative Cultural Committee members also prepared a photo ‘booth,’ complete with a glittering backdrop and all the props needed for a memorable Poon Paregentan photo!  11a

Even after the the cutting of a beautifully prepared masquerade cake with array of desserts, and coffee, the evening continued well beyond midnight with dancing to traditional and contemporary Armenian, American, and international hits by DJ Harout.  Such a great time was had that no one wanted the night to end!
