Many thanks to all who attended the St. Thomas New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance! It was a fabulous night as everyone partied in the sold-out Atrium and greeted 2016 with great joy and hope.
The Atrium and Saddler Hall were transformed to an elegant atmosphere, with lighted winter decor, laser and ambient lighting, and beautiful table settings. All in all, the New Year was celebrated in a ‘stylish and chic venue.’ More than 50 children were entertained with gifts from Santa, several games, crafts, balloon animals and more by Pachote the Clown; and they even had their own television as they enjoyed their meals in a supervised area just for them as their parents enjoyed their evening nearby.
Attendees enjoyed a bountiful appetizer buffet, delicious hot dinner, a robust Viennese desserts table, several raffle prizes and complementary champagne and party favors. Raffle prizes included a television, gold and diamond earrings, and a sapphire, diamond and gold ring. Celebrators danced all night to popular hits and favorites by DJ Alan. Times Square festivities were streaming on the big screen all night long, and no one missed a beat as the countdown to the new year began. At midnight, hugs and heartfelt wishes filled the room underneath the rain of balloons and the sound of clinking champagne glasses as everyone ushered in the new year together.
The introduction of the new year continued via a short church service at 1:00am for anyone who wished to enter the New Year 2016 with their first prayer at the end of a truly wonderful evening had at St. Thomas Armenian Church.
The event was chaired by Mrs. Ani Capan, & Mrs. Sirvart Demirjian. The cost of the dinner-dance was underwritten by many generous financial contributors.
V. Rev. Fr. Papken Dz. V. Anoushian, Esq., Pastor of St. Thomas expressed warm welcoming remarks and his sincere appreciation to the hard-working committee for an excellent job done, and also his appreciation to all the very kind and generous donors.
