On November 2015, the St. Thomas ACYOA participated in a food drive for the CFA (Center for Food Action).
The mission of the Center for Food Action is to “prevent hunger and homelessness and improve the lives of individuals and families living in poverty.”
Volunteers play a key role in CFA’s mission to end hunger and homelessness in our neighborhoods. Every year hundreds of CFA volunteers donate their time and energy to improving the lives of local individuals and families who are in need. CFA relies upon the community to host food drives that will provide the needed groceries to fill our emergency food packages.
Founded in 1976, the CFA is a non-profit organization that provides emergency services to northern New Jersey’s poorest and most vulnerable residents like food, housing, utility and heating assistance; and offers counseling and advocacy services to low-income individuals and families. CFA is headquartered in Englewood and has sites in Fairview, Hackensack, Mahwah, Ridgefield, Ringwood, and Saddle Brook.
